Yeast Infection Home Remedy

Yeast infection is a notorious fungal disease that doesn’t settle on infecting susceptible individuals once or twice but often times it keeps coming back. It is caused by the overgrowth of Candida fungus that naturally inhabits in human body as component of the normal flora; thus, the disease is called Candidiasis or Candida infection. Candida overgrows when the bacterial flora that controls its population is disrupted by some internal and external factors, particularly when the immune system is weak. The signs and symptoms of Candidiasis are indeed alarming and annoying that prompts an infected individual to seek for immediate yeast infection cure.

The manifestation of Candidiasis varies depending on which part of the body is affected. The usual sites that yeast attack are the eyes, scalp, mouth, skin folds (under the breast, armpit, inguinal area, buttocks, and neck), nail beds, vagina and gastrointestinal tract. Among the body structures, the favorite site of Candida is the vagina that makes women the most susceptible population of contracting Candidiasis. Aside from the non-specific symptoms such as itchiness, swelling and pain in the vagina that are common among genitourinary diseases, the distinct characteristic of Candida infection is a cottage-cheese appearing vaginal discharge that is often thick and odorless.

Upon experiencing the discomfort from the signs and symptoms of yeast infection, an infected individual would surely try over-the-counter medications that provide instant relief. However, it is still best to seek medical advice before trying any drug because most drugs have corresponding side effects.

Moreover, there are ingredients that are readily available at home to make one’s own yeast infection cure. Most of these ingredients are natural that make a home-made treatment for yeast disease safe. Some of these home remedy include the use of yogurt, tea tree oil, garlic, cranberries, and apple cider vinegar.

Yogurt has been identified to be one of the best home remedies for Candidiasis because it contains probiotics or good bacteria such as lactobacillus. Besides, the usual condition that makes a person susceptible for yeast fungal infection is the reduced population of these probiotics in the different floras of the body including in the vagina. The goal of using yogurt is to boost the population of normal bacterial flora and this is possible by regular consumption of yogurt. Aside from this, yogurt can also be directly applied to the affected site like antifungal cream.

Tea tree oil can also be used as yeast infection cure. A solution can be made by mixing 1 teaspoon of tea tree oil with 1 teaspoon of rubbing alcohol. Then, dilute 10 drops of the tree oil-alcohol solution to 1 pint of water. Moisten a cotton swab and pat it into the affected area. This can be applied until full relief is attained.

Another common home remedy is raw and fresh garlic. It is an efficient yeast infection cure because of its antifungal property. Aside from eating it raw, it can also be used as suppository. Just wrap the peeled garlic with gauze and insert into the vagina. Make sure to leave a corner of the gauze stick out from the vaginal orifice or tie a string on it that can be used to pull out the garlic after application.

Furthermore, cranberries can also be consumed daily to neutralize or return the body into its normal that is not conducive for yeast proliferation. Lastly is the apple cider vinegar. It is usually mixed with bath water in a tub to keep it diluted. An infected individual may immerse one’s self in it for twenty minutes, particularly the affected site.

Yeast infection cure is not difficult to find as other people thinks. It can be just around the corner of the kitchen. Apart from being readily available and easy to make, home remedies truly relieve the signs and symptoms of Candidiasis in a safer way. Remember that one remedy can be efficient to other persons but not to all. Hence, one should seek for a suitable treatment for one’s self. If after home remedies symptoms still persist, visit a health care professional for further treatment.
